Pamida Foundation

The Pamida Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of citizens in the more than 200 communities in which we do business.  Since 2000, the Foundation has contributed more than $3.9 million to local charitable organizations, benefiting more than 500 nonprofit groups.  The Foundation is funded by the generous support of the company’s supplier partners through the annual Pamida Foundation Charity Golf Classic.
  • In 2007, the Pamida Foundation awarded $386,053 to organizations in 211 Pamida store communities, as well as Omaha, Nebraska.
  • The Pamida Foundation donates $500 to a food bank in every Pamida market during the holiday season each year. In 2007, $103,500 was given to support families in need of assistance.
  • Each year the Pamida Foundation donates funds to schools in every Pamida community in conjunction with a customer matching funds program.  In 2007, $28,893 was donated from the Foundation to school districts in Pamida towns.

Our Focus

The Pamida Foundation has two primary objectives:  Encouraging and educating youth and assisting people with disabilities and disadvantages through support of health-related organizations.  Pamida strives to build strong community partnerships with organizations that focus on these important issues.

Pamida considers one funding request per organization each calendar year, so that our resources can be shared with as many deserving organizations as possible.  The Foundation committee meets on a bi-monthly basis to review requests.

  • To be considered for a grant, organization must be a federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a school, a library, or a public agency.
  • Applications for funding, along with required supporting documentation, must be received at the Pamida Corporate office a minimum of 60 days in advance.
  • The Pamida Foundation focuses on organizations serving Pamida hometowns.  Organizations that do not fall into the geographic area served by Pamida will not be considered for funding.

  • Individuals requests for personal assistance or sponsorship
  • For-profit businesses
