Pamida Foundation FAQ

How do I know if I am eligible?
To be considered for a grant from the Pamida Foundation, your organization must be a federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a school, a library, or a public agency.


Do I qualify for funding if my organization’s 501(c)(3) has a pending status?
No. Only organizations that have a verified 501(c)(3) status, as determined by the Internal Revenue Service are eligible for funding from the Pamida Foundation.


What are the primary areas of focus for the Pamida Foundation?
The Pamida Foundation has two primary objectives:  Encouraging and educating youth and assisting people with disabilities and disadvantages through support of health-related organizations.  Pamida strives to build strong community partnerships with organizations that focus on these important issues.


Are there areas that Pamida does not fund?
The Pamida Foundation does not fund in these categories:
  • Individuals requests for personal assistance or sponsorship
  • For-profit businesses
  • Religious groups for religious purposes
  • School clubs or activities including athletic teams, sports events or booster clubs
  • Advertising in event programs, yearbooks, etc.
  • Political, labor or fraternal organizations
  • Mass solicitations by national or international organizations
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of sex, creed, national origin or religion
  • Programs and events outside Pamida communities
How can I get a funding application?
Applications are available on-line by clicking here, and in every Pamida store. 


When do you accept applications?
The Pamida Foundation accepts applications throughout the year. The Foundation committee meets bi-monthly to review applications. Applications, along with all supporting documentation, must be received a minimum of 60 days in advance.


Can I submit my application on line?
Applications are available on-line. However, in order to consider your application, the Foundation must also receive the additional supporting documentation with the application.  Therefore, we require that you submit all of the pieces together via U.S. Mail.

When will I be contacted about the status of my proposal?
After Pamida receives your application, you may be contacted to provide additional information.  You will receive notification of whether your request has been approved or declined within 90 days of submitting your request.
